Each candidate seeking admission for B.C.A. course will have to appear in an entrance test to be conducted by the department.

A. SCHEME OF ENTRANCE TEST

The entrance test shall consist of a test on English Language Proficiency, Mathematical Ability, Mental Ability and Genral Science. The test paper will contain Muliple Choice Questions set in English. The duration of test will be 2 hrs.
NOTE: There will be no negative marking

B. SYLLABUS

Standard of the examination will be expected from students who have passed 12th class with mathematics upto 10th standard.

1.English Language Proficiency
25 Questions which may be subdivided as follows

1. Grammer and phonology: 15 multiple choice questions may be set to functional grammer excerises to test basic grammatical concept & phonology.
2. Reading an unseen passage from a technical artical followed by 5 multiple answer question.
3. Comprehension, interpretation and drawing inferences: 5 multiple questions

2.Mathematical Ability
25 Questions which may be subdivided as follows

1. Basic Algebra : 5 questions
2. Basic Trignometry : 5 questions
3. Basic Geometry : 5 questions
4. Airthmetic ability : 5 questions
5. Basic Statistics : 5 questions

3.Mental Ability
25 Questions which may be subdivided as follows

The questions will be designed to test the logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude including numerical ability, and data interpretation.

4.General Science
25 Questions which may be subdivided as follows

The questions will be set to test general awareness, scientific temper, comprehension and appreciation of scientific phenomena of everyday observation including new areas of importance like Information Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science.

C. METHOD OF EXAMINATION

The candidate will be required to mark their answers on OMR sheets by blacking the appropriate bubbles with the help of HB pencil.
