HOW TO READ  STUDENT IDENTITY CODE
Student Identity Code is a 14 character Alphanumeric code used to uniquely identify a student. For example,  meaning of  alphanumeric characters in different fields of   the student  identity code  have following meaning. This code is printed in bold letters on the Identity card front side and backside, as a barcode on the backside of the identity card, on all  mark sheets issued to the candidate.

Validity of the card is printed on backside of the card above the class in which the student is currently admitted.

First

 R or P

R for a student  admitted in a regular course offered by the University, P for a student allowed to appear in university examination as a private candidate.
Second Year

Example: 08

 Year of  examination in two digit form  for which the candidate  has been enrolled  at the time of issue of  identity card
Third College code

 

 Three digit code of the college where the candidate has been admitted (regular students) or allotted examination centre (private students) for example: 035 is the college code for University College of Social Sciences and Humanities, 034 is  for University College of Science and 033 for University College of Commerce and Management Studies

Fourth Course code Three letter course code is used  to represent course of study of the student (regular) or course for which candidate will be examined (private)

For example: BAR is the code for  B.A, BSC for B.Sc., BCO for B.COM etc.

Fifth Serial number Five digit serial number is used to uniquely assign a serial number to a student of a given course of  a college.
     
STUDENT IDENTITY CODE  IS PRINTED ON ALL MARK SHEETS ISSUED BY THE UNIVERSITY FROM YEAR 2007.
