Dr. Vineet Soni [M.Sc., Ph.D., Post Doc (Switzerland), FLS, FMA, FAPS, FBS, FICPC] is the Head of the Department of Botany. He has more than 22 years research experience in the field of Plant Bioenergetics & Proteomics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Physiology. He completed Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Scientific Research and University of Rajasthan, Jaipur in 2005 and carried out Post-Doctoral Research at University of Geneva, Switzerland during 2007. He has visited Plant Bioenergetics laboratory, University of Geneva, Switzerland (2004), European Molecular BIology Laboratories (EMBL), Heidelberg, Germany (2005) and Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives, France (2011) as visiting researcher. He is the founder of the 'Save Guggul Movement' and recipient of several scientific awards of national and international levels.

Research group of Dr. Soni has published a number of research papers in high impact journals such as Scientific Reports, Frontiers in Plant Sciences, Physiologia Plantarum, Urban Ecology. Functional Plant Biology, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, Heliyon, Photosynthetica, Plant Physiology Reports, Hazardous Materials Letters etc.
